UP Sunken Garden

Escape to the famous 5-hectare haven that earned the name Sunken Garden due to its basin-like low-lying formation, a natural depression cradled at the heart of the University of the Philippines Diliman campus. Ringed by towering acacia trees, it has long been a favorite spot for strolling, hanging out, playing sports, and catching live events, creating both joyful and sentimental memories for generations of visitors.

Every February, it transforms into the stage for the UP Fair, a week-long celebration of Original Pinoy Music and performances that, in recent years, has also carried the spirit of activism and collective action.

From quiet mornings of jogging around its edges to nights alive with music and thousands of voices, the Sunken Garden shifts easily between two worlds: a tranquil green space where people build lasting memories, and a lively venue where celebration takes over with food, music, and energy.
