Basilica Minore de Santuario de San Pedro Bautista

Visit the simple nipa-and-bamboo chapel turned into the oldest church in Quezon City. Erected in the 1950s, the Basilica Minore de Santuario de San Pedro Bautista is dedicated to its patron, Saint Pedro Bautista, a Fransiscan missionary who was martyred in Japan. Aside from the cave underneath its altar that served as a personal place of prayer and contemplation for San Pedro Bautista, it houses the saint’s relics and serves as a pilgrimage site for Fransiscan devotees. This compound also features a Japanese-inspired garden that honors the faithful who were martyred along with him.
