Bahay Modernismo

Set foot into a Filipino post-war household from the 1950s. Formerly resided by the prominent Aquino family, Bahay Modernismo is an interactive historical exhibition that transports guests back in time through presenting the architecture, household items, and cultural shifts that shaped post-war Filipino society.

Each room, unique and conceivably a studio set for its curated and aesthetic look, is filled with period-accurate pieces, phased-out replicas, and vintage objects donated by families from across Metro Manila. The items inside, along with the architectural style, have a backstory tied to Modernism, which emphasizes convenient simplicity influenced by the perspective of survival and hope.
